Using domain aliases with Email

A domain alias inherits the same email settings and accounts as its hosted domain. Therefore, messages can be sent to an email account @ the hosted domain or @ its alias. For example a site that has abc.com.au as a hosted domain and xyz.com.au as an alias can receive email as admin@abc.coma.u or admin@xyz.com.au but both of these email addresses will utilise the same email account, thus you cannot set unique settings or receive separate messages sent to either "admin" email address.

When using an email client on your PC, you can set these up to appear separate for sending emails.  However, when using webmail the email will always be sent from the hosted domain name.

To configure a domain alias, please use the Control Panel.
