The DotNetNuke application framework provides a simple to use Content Management System.  This article explains how to add a new module to a web page of a DotNetNuke based website.

  1. Log into your website with a user that has authorisation to edit the webpage  This is usually the administrator account.
  2. Goto the web page where you want to add a new module.
  3. On the top left of the page is three radio buttons for the Mode.  Select Edit, if not already selected.
  4. On the top right hand side of the Show Control Panel control.  Select the downarrows to open the Control Panel.
  5. Find the Module drop down menu and select the Module you want to add.  For example, HTML/Text for the basic html/text module.
  6. In the Title field enter the text for the Module Title.  This can be edited later using the Settings option for the module.

  8. Find the Pane drop down menu and select the pane you want to insert the new module.
  9. Find the Insert drop down menu and select Top or Bottom.  The new module will eitehr be inserted at the top of all existing modules in the pane or at the bottom of all modules.
  10. Find the Align drop down menu and select the alignment position.  This will override the default set in the module container.
  11. Select "Add" and the selected module will be inserted into the selected pane.
