How to synchronise contacts, calendar, tasks and notes using a PocketPC

This article describes how to install the software on your PocketPC to allow sychronisation of calendars, contacts, tasks and notes between your Creative Answers mail account and the PocketPC. There are two methods for synchronisation - Activesync (the best) and SyncML. Activesync is described in a separate knowledge article at http://client.creativeanswers.com.au/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=39.

This article does not include synchronising email.

Please follow the instructions below:

Download the SyncML plug-in for the SmartPhone from the funambol website.
Select Windows Mobile PocketPC
You will be prompted to fill out a registration form or you can choose to select “No thanks-please take me straight to the downloads!”
Download the funambol plug-in for Smarterphone to the desktop (or a local download folder)
Connect the SmartPhone to the Active Sync or Sync Center (Vista)
Install the funambol.com plug-in by double clicking on the funambol plugin
Once the installation is finished you will see a configuration screen on PocketPC device
1. The Server Location must be set to http://bizmail.creativeanswers.com.au/sync/default.aspx
2. The Username is the same user name you use for webmail or the email client
3. The Password is the same password you use for webmail or the email client
4. Save
After Saving select Sync All
A message will appear requesting a full Sync, click Yes to initiate

If you receive the following error then you have enabled email synchronisation. This can be disabled by selecting Menu and Settings.

"Resource not found. Check remote name and server uri."
