Using Folder Auto-Clean to delete emails

The email service includes a Folder Auto-Clean feature to help customers manage their email account disk storage.  The system has default settings that will automatically delete email on folders based on the size of the folder or the date of the emails.  These should be adjusted to your needs.

The Folder Auto-Clean feature is set by email account.  It includes default settings when the account is first created.

The default settings for the Folder Auto-Clean features are:- The folders  Deleted Items and Junk e-mail will have emails automatically deleted when the size reaches 20MB reducing the email by folder to 15MB

To override these settings please follow these instructions:

  1. login to your webmail account
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Open the Filtering folder if not already open
  4. Select Folder Auto-Clean
  5. If default auto-clean settings is selected you can select the Folders tab to view the settings
  6. You can select Override if you wish to set the auto-clean up rules for your account
  7. Select Folders and Add Rules
  8. The rules for deletion allow you to select the folder and set deletion by size or date
