How to configure encryption (SSL) for webmail and/or email clients
| Customers the email server have the option of using encrypted or non-encrypted connections. We would recommend the use of encryption. Please follow these instructions to implement encryption.
Webmail You can use a secure webmail connection to access email using https://bizmail.creativeanswers.com.au/. Note the https at the start.
Email Client Setup (Outlook 2007) Both POP and IMAP connections support the use of SSL (encryption). Please setup as follows:
IMAP When enabling SSL in IMAP the incoming port must be set to 993 and the outgoing port to 465. The setup in Outlook 2007 is as follows:
1. Start Outlook 2007 2. Go to Tools->Account Settings 3. Select your email account and Select Change 4. Set the Incoming and Outgoing server to bizmail.creativeanswers.com.au 5. Select More Settings 6. Select Advanced tab 7. Select SSL for Incoming and set the port to 993 8. Select SSL for Outgoing and set the port to 465 9. Select OK 10. Select Next 11. Select Finish
POP When enabling SSL in IMAP the incoming port must be set to 993 and the outgoing port to 465. The setup in Outlook 2007 is as follows:
1. Start Outlook 2007 2. Go to Tools->Account Settings 3. Select your email account and Select Change 4. Set the Incoming and Outgoing server to bizmail.creativeanswers.com.au 5. Select More Settings 6. Select Advanced tab 7. Select "This server requires an encrpted connection (SSL)" and set the port to 995 8. Select SSL for Outgoing from the drop down menu and set the port to 465 9. Select OK 10. Select Next 11. Select Finish
