System Tray Notification of Events
| Notifications of events in the mail system can be setup in the system tray of your desktop or laptop. A notification can be any event that you setup in the mail system. Some example of Events are:
- Email received
- Email Sent
- Calendar event
- Task reminder
- Disk space usage
- etc
To utilise the system tray notification tool please follow these instructions:
- Install the Smarternotify software which can be downloaded at: http://www.creativeanswers.com.au/portals/0/tools/smarternotify_setup.exe
- Start the software by double clicking teh icon on your desktop
- Select Smartermail on the left
- Go to Manage -> New Connections
- Enter a Profile Name. This can be any text but typically your name
- The Provider should be Smartermail 5.5 or later
- The server address is http://bizmail.creativeanswers.com.au/Services/svcNotifications.asmx
- The Username is your full email address
- The password is your webmail password
- Enter in your email address
- Click on Save
- Go to Manage -> Settings
- Set the options you want enabled or disabled
- Save any changes
- Go to http://bizmail.creativeanswers.com.au
- Log in to your email account
- You need to create the Events you want to be notified about. These instructions show how to setup email notification
- Select the Settings icon
- On the left bar, Select Events
- Select New Event
- Enter an Event name, eg Email Received
- Set the Event Category to Email
- Set Event Type to Message Received
- Select Actions
- Select Add Action
- Set Actions to Use My Notifications Profile
- Set Maximum Frequency to None
- Select Save
- You will now get notification on your desktop/laptop of any emails received
Other events can be setup as needed for notification.
