HTTP 500 Errors

IIS HTTP Error 500 errors are caused by internal errors.  If you are receiving this error we suggest you look at the following actions to resolve the error:

  1. Did you recently make a code change that contained an error.
  2. Have you loaded the web.config file into multipe folders that are beign accessed.  It should only be located in the root folder for the website.  If you are getting partial pages loading you can identify the files that are failing.  This can assist you in isolating where a possible duplicate web.config file could be located.
  3. Have you made changes to your web.config file and have duplicate entries or missing information.
  4. Do you have a file or folder permissions issues.  Use the Control Panel to verify the permissions.

If you have completed the above steps and require assistance, please raise a support ticket and provide details of the fault, the actions you have taken and the information on how to replicate the fault.
