Domain Administration Events

The email system supports the configuration of events that enable a domain administrator to get notification of events for the domain.  There are domain related events that are pre-configured and events that can be configured by the domain administrator for managing users.

Note: this feature is only available to customers who are on a email hosting plan that provide the domain administrator account.

Domain Events

There are two events setup for each domain.  These are:

  • the domain storage has exceeded 96%
  • the domain has exceeded the throttling limits

These events will send an email to notifications@yourdomainname.  To receive these events the domain administrator needs to create a user alias to redirect the event notification email to a user email account (usually the person or persons administering the domain).

User Events

The domain administrator can create events notifications for user events.  These are created by logging into the webmail for the domain administrator, select Settings and Select Events (at the bottom on the left).  Events can then be created.

Some example events are:

  • user storage limits
  • blind copy emails for a users incoming or outgoing emails
  • notification of domain changes

Please note: the system will generate a notification to any user when their email storage exceeds 95%.  This overrides any setup at the domain level.
