If you receive the error Runtime Error "3343" Unrecognised database format when you start SMS Messenger then the database on your PC is corrupted.  Please follow this article to correct the issue.

The following steps need to occur for the issue to be removed.   

1. Uninstall the software from the machine through the Control Panel
2. Delete the “SMS Messenger” Folder located in - C:\Program Files 
3. Delete the ‘SMS Messenger” Folder located in - C:\documents and settings\yourusername\local settings\Application Data (for Windows XP) or C:\users\yourusername\AppData\Local (for Windows Vista)
4. Re-install the software, and the issue would have disappeared
