How to setup DNN to send emails
DotNetNuke can send email messages such as user registration, password recovery, etc but it must be first be configured with the SMTP server settings. The following steps show how to configure the SMTP settings:
- Login as "host" user
- Go to "Host" menu select "Host Settings"
- Scroll down and expand "Advanced Settings"
- Expand "SMTP Server Settings"
- In the SMTP Server text box type in outgoing mail server for your email account
- If it is a Creative Answers email server you can select anonymous for SMTP Authentication. If it is another email server select what is appropriate for that system.
You can test it by clicking on "Test" link. Make sure you have saved your settings by clicking on the "update" link.
